The India Workplace Equality Index (IWEI) is India’s only comprehensive benchmarking tool for organizations to measure their progress on LGBT+ inclusion. Developed by the Keshav Suri Foundation, Pride Circle, and Stonewall UK, the IWEI assists organizations in implementing strategies to evaluate their impact, pinpoint areas of improvement, and replace them with industry-leading practices.

How? Through an in-depth assessment across nine parameters, the IWEI identifies where your organization stands on the inclusion spectrum. We guide organizations in overcoming challenges associated with embedding LGBT+ inclusivity in the workplace, providing a clear roadmap with planning structures, best practices, guidelines, and more.

Over the past four editions, we’ve helped organizations across 20 industries identify their strengths, recognize areas for improvement, and create a more diverse and LGBT+ inclusive workplace.

A key feature of the IWEI is the optional Employee Feedback Survey, which captures the real experiences of your employees. This survey helps you understand if your workplace practices genuinely support LGBT+ employees and encourage them to thrive. It also measures if non-LGBT+ employees feel adequately equipped to be effective allies.

Over the past two years, we’ve had over 10,000 employees, including nearly 500 from the LGBT+ community, participants. Taking part in this survey will earn your organization an additional 2 points to your overall IWEI score, with detailed results provided in a customized debrief report.

The Index studies 9 parameters across different areas of employment policy and practice. Each entrant compiles a submission, accompanied by supporting evidence, which demonstrates their organisation’s performance against the set of best-practice criteria. The IWEI team then conducts a thorough review of each submission to give companies a holistic picture of where they stand on inclusion.
